This course is open to all healthcare providers and is targeted to primary care providers - Physicians, PAs, NPs, RNs, Pharmacists, Social Workers, Case Managers, Psychiatrists, Psychologists and other healthcare providers. There is an administrative cost of $35 for the appropriate accreditation certificate and record maintenance of your participation. Participants will print out their own certificate after completing the web-based course which includesa quick case study, pre-test, post-test and brief course evaluation.

Objectives:

After completing this web-based course, the healthcare provider will be able to:

• Describe the multi-level barriers to depression care in minorities      
• Discuss current therapeutic options for depression care including antidepressant therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy as described in the WE-CARE study      
• Describe the collaborative care model for depression care in minorities    
• Apply a framework (ETHNIC) for a culturally competent practice and improved patient adherence to treatment recommendations
